Overview
Sheppard Air Force Base was established in 1941 and is located adjacent to Wichita Falls in north-central Texas, near the Oklahoma border. It is one of the largest Air Education and Training Command (AETC) bases in the Air Force and serves as a major hub for technical training and pilot instruction. Sheppard is home to the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program, the only multinational pilot training program on U.S. soil.
