Overview
Peterson Space Force Base, formerly Peterson Air Force Base, was established in 1942 and was redesignated a Space Force Base in 2021 following the activation of U.S. Space Command at the installation. Located adjacent to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Peterson SFB shares a runway with Colorado Springs Airport and serves as one of the most operationally significant Space Force installations in the nation. It is home to Space Operations Command (SpOC), the field command responsible for organizing, training, and equipping Space Force Guardians for operational missions.
