Overview
The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is located in Annapolis, Maryland, on the Severn River at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Founded in 1845, the Naval Academy is the premier undergraduate educational institution for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, commissioning approximately 1,000 officers annually as ensigns (Navy) and second lieutenants (Marine Corps). The Academy provides a four-year bachelor’s degree program (primarily in engineering and science disciplines) combined with rigorous naval and military training.
