Overview

Coast Guard Training Center Cape May (TRACEN Cape May) is located in Cape May, New Jersey, at the southern tip of the Cape May Peninsula on the Delaware Bay. TRACEN Cape May is the sole enlisted Coast Guard basic training facility – the “Boot Camp” for all enlisted Coast Guard recruits. Every Coast Guard enlisted member who joins the service goes through the 8-week Recruit Training Program at Cape May. The installation has been the home of Coast Guard recruit training since 1948. Cape May itself is one of America’s most charming Victorian seaside resort towns, listed as a National Historic Landmark for its extraordinary collection of Victorian architecture.
