Overview
Fort Gordon is a U.S. Army installation located southwest of Augusta, Georgia, serving as the Army’s hub for cyber operations, signals, and electronic warfare. Established in 1941, the installation is home to U.S. Army Cyber Command, the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, and the Signal School, making it the center of the Army’s information advantage enterprise. The base was renamed Fort Eisenhower in October 2023, then restored to Fort Gordon in September 2025 to honor Master Sergeant Gary I. Gordon, a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu. With over 16,000 military personnel and 13,500 civilian employees, it ranks among the Army’s largest installations.
