Overview
Naval Air Station Pensacola is located on the western edge of Pensacola, Florida, on a peninsula between Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Known as the “Cradle of Naval Aviation,” NAS Pensacola is the oldest naval air station in the United States (established 1914) and serves as the primary training installation for Naval Aviation. Home of the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) and the Naval Aviation Schools Command, Pensacola trains all student naval aviators and naval flight officers as they begin their aviation careers. The world-famous Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron also calls Pensacola home during the winter training season. The National Naval Aviation Museum – free and world-class – is located on the installation.
