“Robins Air Force Base is home to over 50 mission partners, covering five major commands and three wings”, according to the Robins MilitaryINSTALLATIONS page. “It is the largest single-site industrial complex in Georgia, employing a workforce of almost 22,000 civilians, contractors and military members.” The host organization is the 78th Air Base Wing, and the base is also home to Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command and the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, which performs depot-level maintenance and repairs on Air Force equipment and weapons systems.

The installation page also lists the 5th Combat Communications Group, the 638th Supply Chain Management Center, Defense Logistics Agency activities and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, and in October 2026 it named the 18th ACCS activation as one of four new missions coming to Robins.

Arriving: Gate 3 and your CSS

“Military members entering Gate 3 (Watson Gate), open 24 hours a day, should report directly to their unit commander support staff office”, the check-in page says. If your sponsor did not give you that information, you will be directed to the Military Personnel Flight in Building 767 on Ninth Street during duty hours; after duty hours, report to the 24-hour arrival point in Building 557 on Club Drive. The Visitor Control Center is at 478-926-4208.

In October 2026 the check-in page listed these gate hours: Gate 3 (Watson) open 24/7; Gate 14 (Russell Parkway) open every day from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Gate 1 (Green Street) Monday through Friday, except holidays, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Gate 5 (MLK Boulevard) closed temporarily; and Gate 15 (Air National Guard) closed.

On the first full duty day after arrival, your sponsor should take you to your unit Commander Support Staff, which schedules in-processing and the mandatory Newcomer Orientation run by the Military and Family Readiness Center. Bring two copies of your orders to Finance Customer Service and keep all receipts. “NOTE: You must receive concurrent travel approval from the gaining MPF when taking family members to the new duty station.”

All commercial numbers on Robins have 222, 926, 327 or 201 prefixes in area code 478, the page adds.

Housing: Hunt Military Communities

“Robins Air Force Base housing is unique due to there being on and off-base locations and is fully privatized and managed by Hunt Military Communities”, per the housing page. The housing office is at 775 Macon St., Building 1555, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (478-926-3776).

Temporary lodging: Pine Oaks Lodging

Reserve Robins lodging in advance of your arrival at 478-926-2100, the temporary housing page says; the Pine Oaks Lodging front desk is in Building 557 on Club Drive, across from the Horizon’s Event Center. “Reservations are not definite until you receive a confirmation number.” Pets are allowed only in rooms designated as Pet Temporary Lodging Facilities, for an additional daily fee of $10; for any other room you will need to board your pet. If quarters are not available on base, the office will provide a list of local hotels.

Medical care: no emergency room

“The 78th Medical Group does not have emergency services or an emergency room”, the health care page says. Houston County Medical Center provides ambulance service from an on-base location at the 78th Medical Group during weekday hours and responds from off base at other times; “In either case, dial 911 for an ambulance response.” Notify your Primary Care Manager within 24 hours of an emergency visit. Appointments: 478-327-7850. The clinic is closed every Wednesday for training from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Schools: Houston County

“The Houston County school system educates more than 31,000 K-12 students on 40 campuses”, per the installation page, and the Robins overview says all new students enroll at the Central Registration office, where parents also get bus stop, bus number and schedule information. Registration requires two proofs of residency, a lease or mortgage plus a utility bill or service cut-on order, among other items. School Liaison: 478-327-5524, per the education page.

Emergency help during the move

The Military and Family Readiness Center can help with Air Force Aid Society emergency financial assistance for PCS issues such as unexpected travel, transportation or lodging costs (478-926-1256), per the emergency assistance page. After duty hours or on federal holidays, contact the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337.

Before you arrive

Enter through Gate 3 if you arrive after hours, get concurrent travel approval before bringing family, book Pine Oaks Lodging and wait for the confirmation number, and plan on a civilian emergency room for emergencies.
