Overview
Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) was established as a consolidated installation combining Naval Air Station Point Mugu and Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Port Hueneme, located on the southern California coast in Ventura County. Formally consolidated in 2000 under Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) directives, the installation encompasses two geographically separate sites roughly 10 miles apart. NBVC supports a diverse tenant population including aviation, test and evaluation, and Navy Seabee mission sets, making it one of the more operationally diverse naval bases on the West Coast.
